The Football Association (FA) in England is eyeing Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola for the Three Lions managerial position.
Recall that Guardiola’s current contract ends in 2025 and the Spaniard could be leaving his role as the coach of Manchester City.
According to the Daily Mail, Southgate looks likely to step down after Euro 2024.
Although his contract expires in 2024, the prospect of the 53-year-old guiding the Three Lions to the 2026 World Cup has not been ruled out.
However, Guardiola remains a serious option for the FA.
The only stumbling block would be his contract at City, which runs until 2025.
Eddie Howe, Mauricio Pochettino and Graham Potter had all previously been considered options to take on the role.
Howe presently tinkers Newcastle United while, Pochettino is the head coach of Chelsea FC.
