Chelsea football club surrendered a two goal lead to settle for a share of the spoils against Arsenal FC at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.
Newboy Cole Palmer, slotted home Chelsea’s first goal from the penalty spot in the 15th minute of the encounter when Saliba’s arm was adjudged to be in an unnatural position, and the referee wasted no time in pointing to the spot.
First half ended 1-0 in favour of Chelsea.
Upon resumption of second half, Odegaard lost possession and Mudryk probed down the left and crossed the ball, it floated over Raya, stranded on the right-hand edge of his six-yard box, and into the top right for Chelsea’s second of the night.
In the 77th minute, Chelsea looked completely comfortable, then suddenly Sanchez, well to the left of his goal, passes out towards nobody in particular. Rice latches onto the loose ball and hits a first-time long-distance rake that curls into the left-hand portion of the unguarded net.
Arsenal then fought hard and got the well deserved equalizer in the 84th minute when a very free Bukayo Saka found Trossard with a pass and the Belgian slotted the ball under Sanchez to level scores for the visitors.
The result meant Arsenal reclaimed their second position while Chelsea climbed to 9th on the English Premier League table.
