Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has named midfielder Portuguese, Bruno Fernandes as the club’s new captain.
This new development was made known via its website on Thursday.
Recall that Ten Hag stripped defender, Harry Maguire of the captaincy armband last week.
It remains unclear if the English defender will remain at the club or leave.
“Bruno Fernandes has been named as the new club captain of Manchester United,” Man United’s statement reads in part.
Fernandes has already worn the Red Devils’ armband on numerous occasions in the past.
The Portugal international has scored 64 goals and registered 54 assists in just 185 games for Man United since joining in 2020.
