Four persons including a pilot were rescued alive as a private helicopter crashed into a building in the Ikeja area of Lagos State on Tuesday afternoon.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at 3:30 pm adjacent to AP Filling Station, and United Bank For Africa, Oba Akran.
LASEMA, the Lágos state emergency agency activated its disaster response plan to the incident which occurred around 1600hrs.
According to the permanent secretary, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, the helicopter containing 4 persons including the pilot crash landed in front of the United Bank of Africa branch on the road.
“All four casualties have been retrieved from the aircraft alive. They have been transferred to hospital for further care. The area has been cordoned off and is being blanketed to prevent a secondary incident. All Emergency responders are on scene.”
However, there is no information on whether or not there were other passengers on board.
Responders from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) were on ground at the time of filing this report.
