Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has appointed Harrison Tare Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, as Executive Assistant (EA) on Entertainment.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the appointment of Harrysong as EA to Governor Oborevwori on Entertainment is effective December 22 2023.
Harrysong, born in Warri, Delta State, is a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist who rose to fame after his tribute song to Nelson Mandela won the “Most Downloaded Callertune Award” at The Headies 2013.
Born to Ijaw parents, Harrysong moved to Lagos in 2007 after spending some of his early life in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to a letter conveying his appointment and sighted by TNG, the appointment of Harrysong is at the instance and pleasure of Governor Oborevwori.
Meanwhile, the artist has expressed appreciation to the State Governor for entrusting him with the office.
Harrysong also asked Deltans to expect Sherified and Ukodo International Festival this year.
He wrote via Instagram: “Newly Appointed E.A (Executive Assistant) Entertainment to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori. Thank you my Governor.
“Now, address me as Hon Super Star Harrysong. Thank you so much my Governor for entrusting me with this office to work.
“Deltans, get ready for Kingmaker March 30th. #Sherrified and Ukodo International Festival 2024. Say congratulations to me and thanks to my Governor”.
