Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe says Swedish strike Alexander Isak has the same qualities as Thierry Henry.
Isak lit up Goodison Park last night with an extraordinary piece of skill for Jacob Murphy’s goal in last night’s 4-1 win at Everton.
Howe said, “I can see the comparisons there. I think everyone is different. There are no two players who are the same but I think he does have some of the characteristics that Thierry Henry had.
“He has certainly got the speed and is a similar build and frame. Also the footwork. The assist [against Everton] was truly remarkable really. He has got a lot of potential to improve and get better, but it’s been a great start for him here.”
On Sunday’s opponents Southampton, Howe said: “It’s a difficult game. They [Southampton] are fighting. I watched the Arsenal game and they were very good against the league leaders – scored three goals and looked a real threat in transitions and set-plays.
“We have played Southampton three times this season so we know their qualities. They are a good team.”
