The Federal Government has directed retiring directors to handover all vital documents, identity cards, official cars before exiting the service.
TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports this was contained in a circular issued on August 3, 2023, signed by Director, Administration, Ministry of Finance, Mariya Rufa’i.
It was expressly stated in the circular that the directive was based on “2021 revised edition of the Public Service Rule(PSR) which became effective on July 27th, 2023.
The retiring directors were advised to handover to the most senior officer in their respective offices and commence on documentation process immediately.
TNG recalls that more than 500 directors are expected to vacate the service as this new rule takes effect.
The revised PSR stipulates that a Director(GL 17) or its equivalent as may be prescribed by other MDA’s shall compulsorily retire upon the attainment of eight years in that position.
