The Deputy Governor of Kano state,Hafiz Abubakar, has purportedly dumped the All Progressive Congress, APC, to join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
PDP made this known on its official Twitter page on Wednesday.
“The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Professor Hafiz Abubakar has also dumped the All Progressive Congress (APC), @APCNigeria and has defected to the @OfficialPDPNig. PDP! Power to the people,” the party tweeted.
Abubakar’s defection comes at a time political bigwigs in the country are pitching their tent to the opposition party, some of whom were former members of the PDP.
Among the politicians, who made their way back to the PDP include Bukola Saraki, president of the Nigerian Senate; Aminu Tambuwal, the Sokoto State Governor; Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president; Dino Melaye, the Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district and Bolaji Abdullahi, spokesman of the APC.
