The National Vice Chairman, North West, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Garba Muhammad, has hailed the decision of the Court of Appeal affirming the sack of Gov. Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Friday in Abuja.
Muhammad, in a statement shortly after the verdict of the appeal court, said it was a reflection of the will of the people and acceptability of the APC in the North West.
“I hail the decision of the appellate court, which has manifested Allah’s divine providence for Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna to be confirmed as the duly elected governor of Kano state.
“By upholding the verdict of the tribunal setting aside the issues brought by the appellant, the ruling marks the culmination of a long and arduous legal battle.
He emphasised that the judgement was a triumph for the wish of the good people of Kano State which validated their mandate to Dr Nasiru Gawuna and his deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo.
He further said it was a relief from the vindictive and malicious destruction of the Ganduje legacies by the ousted NNPP government.
“Finally, I applaud the judiciary for their unwaivering commitment to always remain on the side of justice,” the statement said.”
Kano: Appeal Court judgement, victory for all – Kano APC Chairman
Meanwhile, Chairman of the APC, Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, says the victory recorded by the party at the Appeal Court is a victory for all the people of the State.
Abbas said this while speaking with newsmen in Kano on Friday in reaction to the judgment delivered in Abuja.
He described the victory as a clear indication that the APC won the governorship election at the initial stage.
“I am happy to inform all those that fall victims of demolition by the NNPP administration at Eid ground, Salanta and other places that this is their victory and their saviour has arrived.
“We assure the people of Kano that their responsible government has returned, so they have nothing to fear,” he said.
Abbas however appealed to the APC supporters to continue to conduct themselves peacefully with the aim of having a peaceful society.
He noted that they have the assurance of winning the case even at the Supreme Court with the evidences on ground.
