The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State, Moyosore Onigbanjo has disclosed he will personally lead the prosecution of ASP Dambri Vandi, the policeman who was said to have shot and killed Mrs Bolanle Raheem.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports ASP Vandi allegedly shot and killed Mrs Raheem, a lawyer, on Christmas Day in Ajah, Lagos State while she was returning from a church service driving in a car with her husband, Mr Gbenga Raheem.
Speaking when he lead a delegation of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to the family of Mrs Raheem, Onigbanjo disclosed he will personally lead the prosecution of ASP Vandi to show the seriousness which the State government attached to the matter.
“We have the permission of Mr Governor to tell you that justice will be done in this matter. The matter will be charged to court as soon as the police send us the case file. I will be leading the prosecution to show the seriousness the government attaches to this matter,” Onigbanjo said.
In his brief response, the husband of the late Bolanle, Mr Gbenga Raheem, thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for his empathy.
In the delegation were Special Adviser Tubosun Alake; Head of Service, Muri Okunola; Women and Poverty Alleviation Commissioner, Mrs Bolaji Dada and Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
Meanwhile, two police officers arrested along with ASP Vandi over the alleged killing of Mrs Raheem have been released, with the police saying they were not involved in the crime.
