A Lagos-based man whose property was demolished has accused some officials of the Lagos state government of fueling and being in forefront of the demolition.
The mansion belonging to chief Adetunji Omisore was partly demolished on Tuesday 19 July 2022.
The Lagos State Building Control Agency, (LSBCA) had earlier marked the building for demolition under the authority of the Lagos state government, giving a 7- day ultimatum.
However, Omisore told pressmen that that 7-day notice hadn’t elapsed before the LSBCA brought in their caterpillars to demolish the mansion.
According to Omisore, the demolition started four days after the notice was served without another notice informing them of the date change.
“The officials of the LSCBA just came on the 19th of July, 2022 to demolish our building with caterpillars and blackmail without any prior notice
”They had initially served a 7-day notice but they came four days later to carry out the act” He said
Omisore said that the intervention of the Presidential Committee on lease in Abuja prevented the complete demolition of the mansion but noted that some buildings on the premises were already brought down.
Meanwhile, Omisore has fingered a Lagos state top shot Ayinde as leading the campaign to demolish the building to serve as a site office for use for the construction of a road in the estate
