The Federal Government of Nigeria has claimed that it has yet to find a replacement for what the late Taiwo Akinkunmi did for the country.
Akinkunmi’s design was selected amongst many entries in the 60s.
He designed the flag while studying abroad prior to the country’s independence in 1960.
TheNewsGuru.com reports that Akinkunmi, a native of Ogun State, died a few days ago in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammad Idris, led a delegation of the Federal Government to visit the family of the deceased in Ibadan on Monday.
Akinkunmi died on August 29th, 2023, at the age of 86 he was commonly referred to as Mr. Flag Man.
