The Chairman of the commission, Otunba Segun Oladitan said the commission was determined and committed to hold free and fair election.
He explained that the date of the election has taken care of the stipulated 90 days notification and assured that the commission would be neutral and that the electoral process would be transparent.
The chairman attributed the reason why there was no local government election in the past ten years to pending litigation. He added that the cases have been cleared and that there was no encumbrance at the moment.
He further stated that parliamentary system of government would be employed in running the local government in the state and that only the councillors would be elected during the election.
The OSIEC Chairman sought the support and cooperation of the people of the state, particularly the political parties and stakeholders in the election matter so as to achieve success.
