There was pandemonium at the Isolo area of Lagos on Thursday as a truck crushed a bike man (identified as Biliaminu Olayiwola) to death while trying to make u-turn at the Daleko Bridge.
TheNewsGuru.com reports that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA was immediately alerted of the incident which happened at about 9:19am. This prompted the immediate activation of the Agency’s Emergency Response Team, ERT to the scene of the accident accordingly.
Investigation conducted by the Agency’s ERT team on getting to the scene of the incident revealed that a bike man was crushed under a trailer while trying to make a u-turn. He was identified as Biliaminu Olayiwola and his corpse was later handed over to the police.
The driver of the trailer absconded immediately the accident occurred but was later apprehended by Police officers on duty and was taken to Olosan Police Station, Mushin for further interrogation.
TheNewsGuru.com reports that officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, (LASEMA), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Lagos State Fire Service, Nigeria Police Force and Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC were all at the scene of the accident to offer their various professional services.
The trailer was recovered off the road with a tow truck provided by LASTMA and moved to a safe place nearby thereby ensuring free vehicular movements.
The General Manager Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu however advised motorist and bike riders to always ensure utmost safety while on the highway to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
