Normalcy has returned to Ketu-Ojota area of Lagos after pocket of street riot ensued early Friday morning.
It was gathered that hoodlums stormed the Ikorodu expressway in Ojota to rob and harass unsuspecting motorists, pedestrians, shops and eateries.
The hoodlums claim to be cash-strapped owing to the unavailability of Bank’s Automated Tell Machines (ATM) to dispense cash and the outright rejection of old notes by market women as the reason they stormed the street in protest.
However, policemen were mobilized to the area and dispersed the hoodlums thereby paving way for calmness and normalcy to return to the expressway.
Findings show that vehicular and human movement have retuned to normal but offices, shops and other business centers still remain shut for fear of the unknown.
The fracas which escalated to the Mile 12 part of Lagos has also been nipped in the bud by policemen and other security agent drafted to the area.
