Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has received a three-man National Assembly delegation in London where he is currently on vacation, and also receiving medical treatments.
This is coming barely 12 hours after sources at the National Assembly confirmed that the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representative will lead a team of legislators to visit the President in London.
The National Assembly has in the delegation Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker Yakubu Dogara and Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan.
“Pleased to receive Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker Yakubu Dogara and Senate Leader Ahmed Lawan tonight.
“I spoke with the SP and Speaker on the phone last week; and I’m delighted to be hosting them and discussing in person,” said President Buhari.
President Buhari, who embarked on a 10-day vacation to the United Kingdom on Monday January 23, 2017 and billed to return to work on Monday February 6th, wrote the National Assembly on February 5th informing of his desire to extend his leave indefinitely in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.
President Buhari thanked the National Assembly delegation and expressed gratefulness to Nigerians for prayers and kind wishes.
“I thanked them for visiting. I’m also grateful to Nigerians, Christians and Muslims alike, for their prayers and kind wishes for my health,” said Buhari.
