Preparations are in top gear by the world acclaimed professionals for humanity (PROFOH) to serve the people of the island nation of Jamaica as regards their health care service.
PROFOH in conjunction with the government of Jamaica alongside the Ministry of Health and Wellness will be attending to the medical conditions of over 5000 Jamaicans.
Tagged ‘Project Code Care’ the program aims to address the backlogs of over 5000 surgeries amongst the people of Jamaica.
These surgeries will be carried out for Jamaican patients who have come down with a hernia, cataract, plastic surgery, hysterotomies, Myomectomies, Lipomas, Trans, Urectral Resection of Prostrate, pterygium, etc.
The backlog of these surgeries were primarily due to shortages and the perennial loss of some Jamaican skilled medical personnel including nurses and surgeons in the operating theatre in the last two years.
These backlogs and shortages were worsened by COVID 19 pandemic which became very much prevalent in the year 2020.
Meanwhile, PROFOH calls for partnership from member nations in America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, and Canada to join hands with it to achieve the laudable project.
PROFOH hopes to correct the backlogs of 5,000 cases of corrective surgeries in Jamaica by the year 2023.
Similarly, PROFOH calls for applications from Nurses and Surgeons from member nations including Nigeria for this project.
