A 61-year-old man, Mohammed Subair, was on Friday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for an alleged land grabbing.
Subair, whose residential address was not provided is charged with land grabbing and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Oladejo Balogun, told the court that Subair allegedly committed the offence sometime in 2020 at Kuye Village off Nigeria Wire and Cable Owode, Apata, Ibadan.
Balogun alleged that the defendant encroached and forcibly entered the real property of Sulaimon Adegoke’ family land, dwelling at the afforementioned area.
Balogun also alleged that Subair conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by preventing Adegoke’s family from entering their land.
He said the offences contravened Sections 81, 249 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000 and Section 9 of the Oyo State Real Property and Protection Law, 2018.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Sanusi Zubair, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until March 18 for hearing.
