Terrorists in the early hours of Saturday again abducted 14 persons at a Station, in a community near Idon town, Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
An official in Kajuru Local Government Council, Bala Jonathan, gave the names of the abductees as Abdullahi, Yakubu Isah, Samson Julius, Angelina Julius, Pasema Daniel and Junior.
Others are Bobo Julius, Saratu Mohammed, Asenath Sunday, Confidence Jerry, Barnaki Sunday, Moses Kenneth, Danladi Goma and Ummi Jibrin.
“These are the names of the abducted persons in Iri Station which we have discovered for now. The sad event happened in the early hours of today, June 4, 2022,” Jonathan said.
According to him, some of the earlier kidnapped victims were still with the bandits because their loved ones and communities had not been able to raise the ransom demanded by their abductors.
Kidnapping cases in and around Idon Ward of Kajuru have become a recurring incident which has led to the impoverishment of the people of the affected communities who have to do away with their life savings and farm produce to pay ransom to redeem their loved ones from ‘unknown’ gunmen who victimise them at will.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the abductors of Abuja-Kaduna train passengers are yet to release all the victims, as those able to meet their demand regained freedom.
In earlier pictures released, 62 of the kidnapped victims are seen in four groups.
The first photo has 23 persons, including five children (two females and three males) and 18 women.
Among them is the 85-year-old woman said to be diabetic.
The second photo showed 17 men, including a foreigner.
The third photo showed six of the victims sitting, one of whom has a bandage wrapped on his right leg.
The fourth photo showed 16 people.
The first photo was released during the release of Managing Director of Bank of Agriculture, Alwan Ali-Hassan.
The other was a video showing victims begging the government to grant the terrorists’ demands.
It was reported after the attack that 68 captives were with the bandits, including 41 women, 22 men and five children.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) is unsure of the exact number of those abducted.
The terrorists used clothes to block the background on the photographs as the abductees sat on a tarpaulin.
They blew up rail tracks on the Abuja-Kaduna route during the attack, killing eight passengers. No fewer than 41 people were injured.
