Senegal and Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouar Mendy has announced his departure from the London side on Wednesday.
Mendy has now joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli after spending three seasons with the Blues.
The 31-year-old played a key role in the Blues’ run to Champions League glory in 2021.“A hugely likeable character on and off the pitch, Edouard will always have a place in our history for his significant contributions to our 2021 Champions League triumph,” a Chelsea statement read.
“For that, and for everything else, we are grateful. Good luck, Edou!”
Mendy also helped Senegal win the Africa Cup of Nations, beating Egypt in the final in 2022.
Chelsea will promote Kepa Arizabalaga to the number position whilst awaiting the signing of another back up keeper for the Spaniard.
