Real Madrid fought back really hard to come back from behind to snatch a draw at the Bernabeau while Arsenl also followed suit by coming from behind to secure a draw at the Emirate.
Bukayo Saka opened the scoring for the Gunners, but Thomas Tuchel’s men were in front before half time thanks to goals from Leroy Sane and a Harry Kane penalty.
However, Gunners new boy, Leandro Trossard came off the bench to grab the equaliser for Arsenal and set up an interesting second leg fixture at the Alianz Arena.
But elsewhere at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid and Manchester City played out a pulsating 3-3 draw.
