The Executives of Urhobo Progress Union, United Kingdom Branch, led by its President, Chief Emmanuel Ganiga, recently paid a courtesy visit on the President General of Urhobo Progress Union, Olorogun Moses Taiga, at his Lagos residence from their London base.
Speaking during the visit, Olorogun Taiga acknowledged the crisis in the UPU, UK Branch, but affirmed that there is only one UPU in the UK, which is led by Chief Ganiga. He said that the group led by Chief Angus Omasoro is Urhobo United Union (UUU), not UPU UK. Olorogun Taiga, however, enjoined Chief Ganiga to go back home, consult and advise the parent UPU body on when it can come to the UK to conduct a fresh election, which will bring all Urhobos in the UK under one UPU.

He urged them to put the past behind them and forge forward in unity for the sake of the Urhobo Nation.
On Chief Ganiga’s request to reach out to the former UPU President General, Chief Joe Omene, Olorogun said he was well disposed to it and immediately appointed a three-man team comprising Chief Johnson Barovbe, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Urhobo Social Club, Chief Ganiga and Engr. Alex Neyin. He urged them to co-opt additional members, if they needed to.
