At about 5am of the 2019 presidential and parliamentary polls, Nigerians in the Abuja-Keffi route troop out in their numbers to cast their votes for their choice candidates.
This is as a result of the massive campaign by the media that citizens should come out enmass to cast and protect their votes to avoid rigging.
Going by directive by the federal government that movement be restricted, military personnel were seen screening motorists in that axis.
According to one of these motorists, they asked us to come out and vote now they are blocking the road. This blockade will discourage voters considering the traffic that is gradually building.
Findings by TNG indicates that most voters are coming from suburbs. They did their Permanent Voter Card(PVC) registrations in the city centre where their offices are located because they could not find out time or withstand the crowd in these suburbs where they reside.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, registration of voters with PVC at polling units begins by 8am. What then is the hope of these voters who are yet to get to their polling units owing to this blockade?
