The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has explained that there would be a significant improvement in the conduct of the 2023 elections.
INEC has reiterated that the forthcoming 2023 general elections will be a lot better than the last one held in 2019 and even the previous ones.
This was disclosed by INEC’s National Commissioner in Charge of Planning, Monitoring and Strategic Planning Committee (PMSC), Prof Rhoda Gumus, during a two-day workshop on Election Monitoring and Support Centre (EMSC) for Heads of Department (HODs) in the Commission, yesterday in Gombe State.
Gumus further explained that the 2023 polls would be free, credible, and reflect the expectations of the electorates.
She also said all measures for free, fair, and credible elections in 2023 were being put in place by the electoral commission, saying that INEC was optimistic that votes would count as witnessed in recent elections in Ekiti and Osun States.
The 2023 general elections will kick start on the 25th of February with the presidential and National Assembly elections while the guber elections will take place on March 11th, 2023.
