The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) on Monday released a 38-man provisional list for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria.
The SLFA released the list on its Facebook page on Monday.
The list comprised of the same players who executed their last AFCON qualifier game but omitted just seven players from the squad,
ThenewsGuru.com reports that Sierra Leone will host Super Eagles on match day five 2024 AFCON qualifiers at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium in Liberia on June 18.
The Confederation of African Football CAF didn’t approve any of the stadiums put forward by the SLFA for the match, hence the reasons for holding the match in Liberia.
The Eagles won the last encounter between the two sides 2-1 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on June 9, 2022.
Sierra Leone are currently third in Group A with five points after four rounds of matches. They will, however, hope to stun the group leaders to revive their qualification chances.
Ahead of the must-win game, Keister named 12 overseas-based and 26 home-based players in his provisional list for the clash against the three-time African champions.
Super Eagles top the group with 9 points while Guinea Bissau are currently lying second with 7 points. Sierra Leone is 3rd while Sao Tome and Principe is fourth on the table.
The 2024 AFCON will hold in Ivory Coast in January .
