There was confusion on Thursday evening over the purported visit of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to the United States of America.
Recall that the internet was awash with reports of the former Vice President’s unconfirmed visit to the US on Thursday evening.
He was reportedly billed to address the Chamber of Commerce on Friday, from 2:30pm to 4pm local time.
The occasion hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce and the US Africa Business Centre, is reportedly going to hold at 1615 H street, NW 20062.
However, when TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reached out to one of the presidential hopeful’s spokesman, Paul Ibe on phone, he declined to comment saying he would issue a statement later.
“Let’s leave the story for now. I’ll issue a release later,” Ibe told TNG correspondent on phone.
Recall that Atiku hasn’t stepped on American soil for well over decade dating back to his vice presidency, allegedly due to the belief he would be arrested for allegations of corruption.
He served under former President Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 – 2007.
