President Muhammadu Buhari will today at 7 pm address Nigerians as the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) lockdown imposed since March ends tomorrow.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity made this known in a statement on Monday.
The statement reads: “President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation Monday, April 13, 2020 at 7pm.
“Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast”.
Recall that President Buhari had on March 29, 2020 in a nationwide broadcast, ordered a total lockdown in Abuja as well as Lagos and Ogun States for an initial period of 14 days in a bid to stop the spread of the virus in the country.
The president, in the nationwide broadcast said the decision was taken based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The initial period of 14 days lockdown ordered by the President comes to an end on tomorrow Tuesday.
