Controversy has continued to trail a Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case confirmed in Delta State on Wednesday.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed two COVID-19 cases for the State yesterday.
One of the cases presented at the General Hospital in Otu-Jeremi after allegedly showing signs of COVID-19.
The patient, a 36 years old female, who resides in Ugborikoko, Uvwie Local Government Area, was said to have visited her boyfriend at Utuama in Udu LGA.

Meanwhile, TNG learnt that when the COVID-19 patient became ill, she presented herself at the Otu-Jeremi General Hospital on the 16th of April, 2020 at about 5 pm with the complaint of coughing, fever and anorexia of 2 days duration and she was afebrile with B.P 100/70mmhg, PR 96/m.
According to the Ughelli South Local Government Area COVID-19 Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Team, further examination revealed a provisional diagnosis of PTb., Pneumonia, R/o COVID 19. She was thus referred for chest X-ray and sputum AFB.
On presentation the next day, the Medical Officer with high index of suspicion referred her to Warri Central Hospital for further COVID-19 evaluation, which was confirmed positive, the team stated in a report.
Five health workers (3 doctors, 1 laboratory scientist and 1 pharmacist), all Youth Corps Members, who had primary contacts with the patient have been advised to observe isolation.
The team instructed the Corps members on the need to regularly monitor their body temperature twice daily and they were given personal thermometer and other relevant kits.
The team assured and explained to the contacts on the need to comply with the isolation period.
