The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it has recovered an additional N70,000,000 (seventy million naira) for the Kwara State Government in its ongoing efforts to recover the looted funds allegedly stolen by corrupt individuals.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the Zonal Head of the EFCC, Mr Isyaku Sharu on Wednesday made this known while speaking as a guest on a Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Morning Safari programme in Ilorin.
Isyaku said the Ilorin Zonal Office of the EFCC recovered the sum in the ongoing investigations into the spending of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS).
The EFCC boss said the Commission had earlier on the 11th of October 2019 handed over the sum of N112,000,000 being recoveries from corrupt individuals to the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq.
