The newly sworn-in Kano State governor, Engr Abba Yusuf has approved the settlement of the National Examination Council’s (NECO) outstanding debts in the state.
Yusuf made this known on Sunday via his official Twitter handle.
According to him, the decision was to enable 55,000 students of public schools in the state to sit for the 2023 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, SCCE.
In 2022, National Examination Council (NECO) vowed to stop students from Kano state from writing the examination over N1.5 billion debt.
The NECO examination is scheduled to commence on 27th June 2023.
