News site, Premium Times‘ has retrieved his hacked Twitter account @PremiumTimesng, after hackers hijacked it on Friday.
The News site confirmed that it has retrieved the hijacked Twitter account on Saturday, adding that it’s now in full custody and control of the account.
Hackers used the account to share crypto-related content on Friday and the News platform had to put up a disclaimer.
The disclaimer was contained via a statement signed and released by the management of the News site.
Premium Times noted that hackers changed its login details of the account.
The statement reads, “At about 4:52 p.m. Nigerian time on Friday, Premium Times Twitter account (@PremiumTimesng) was hacked. The hackers have since posted unsavoury tweets on the account and have changed the login details, even with 2FA enabled.”
“We urge our readers and the public to discountenance any tweet from the account for now and apologise for any inconveniences caused,” it added, saying it had formally contacted Twitter to recover the account.
After the account was retrieved on Saturday, Premium Times tweeted that the account has been retrived using the said handle.
The tweet reads: “This is to inform our esteemed readers that we have regained control of our Twitter account which was hacked a few hours ago. We are now in full control of our @premiumtimesng. We thank you all for your support and patronage.”
