Twitter has suspended the account of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on the microblogging platform.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports @NgComCommission is the official Twitter account of the independent national regulatory authority for the telecommunications industry in Nigeria.
The Commission is responsible for creating an enabling environment for competition among operators in the industry as well as ensuring the provision of qualitative and efficient telecommunications services throughout the country.
As Nigeria’s regulator for the telecommunications industry, the NCC oversees the activities of all of the nation’s service providers including providers of Internet services, and technology regulations.
Though no reason has been given yet for the suspension of the official Twitter account of the commission, a quick check confirmed the suspension.
The NCC is yet to release an official statement to address the development.
