Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, the Delta governorship candidate of the Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) has promised to enhance workers welfare, if given the mandate in March 11 poll.
Oborevwori also the Speaker of the State Assembly said this on Tuesday, in Asaba, at an Interactive forum with civil servants, at the Prof. Chike Edozie Secretariat Complex, Asaba,
He assured of prompt payment of promotion arrears, adding that he would work hard to bridge the payment gap of outstanding pension arrears to retirees in the state.
He promised regular promotion of workers in the state.
“I will also consider upward review of car and housing loans for civil servants. We are going to work hard to bridge the payment gap of outstanding pension arrears to retirees.
”I will make pension payment more efficient by making funds available on time,” he said.
Oborevwori also pledged to ensure that the state health insurance scheme was accessible to subscribers.
“My government will ensure that collective bargaining mechanism will be my mantra.
”There will be affordable housing scheme for workers through Public/Private Partnership arrangement; Lastly, training and retraining for capacity building will take a prime position,” he said.
Also speaking, the State Head of Service, Mr Reginald Bayako, thanked the workers for their contribution during the forum and solicited for their votes for Oborevwori.
He promised them that the PDP governorship candidate was a leader, conversant with the needs and desire of the workers and would implement every promise he made.
Bayoko said that in his interaction with the Speaker, he notified him that the 13 month salary had been paramount among the needs of workers in the state.
He added that he was optimistic that the candidate would look into the matter when voted into power as the next governor of the state.
