Kano state governor, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje has sent congratulatory messages to Governor-elect, Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP)
However, Ganduje also warned him that he is going to run a brief government, hence they are meeting in court.
Ganduje, who was offering prayers for the incoming president, Bola Ahmad Tinubu on his 71st birthday at Government House, Kano, Saturday, said he is congratulating Yusuf for having a brief victory in the last conduct of the elections.
He said that they have since directed their lawyers to prepare legal actions against the outcome of the election that was marred by irregularities and heavy rigging.
The prayer was attended by several islamic leaders of different sects with some APC stakeholders and cabinet members.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Abba Kabir Yusuf of the NNPP as the winner of Kano guber with 1,019,602 votes against his closest rival, APC’s candidate, Nasir Gawuna, who polled 890,705 votes.
