There are speculations that the presidency is considering returning the former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to lead the Central Bank of Nigeria.
President Bola Tinubu met with Sanusi, at the presidential villa on Thursday in Abuja.
The former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor arrived at the State House at 5 pm for the meeting with Tinubu.
Few days back President Tinubu suspended the immediate past CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele and asked his deputy Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, take over pending the outcome of an investigation oh him.
Tinubu and Sanusi are meeting for the first time since the former assumed the presidency on May 29.
Recall that Lamido Sanusi was also suspended by the ex-president Jonathan’s administration in 2014 over recklessness and misconduct”.
Mr Sanusi caused shockwaves in Nigeria when he alleged that $20bn (£12bn) in oil revenue had gone missing.
Sanusi afterwards became the emir of Kano but was deposed by the immediate past governor, Abdullahi Ganduje over disagreement between them on political issues.
