Alice Gombwer Basketball Academy and Adamawa Lions Basketball Club are through to the final of the NBBF TotalEnergies Division 2 Savannah Conference finals in Abuja.
Gombwer defeated their Kaduna State rivals ABU Knights in one of the semi final by 63 to 55 points. 11-19, 17-17, 15-8 and 20-11.
To reach the semi finals, Gombwer topped group A of the Savannah Conference finals round robbin league with two wins while ABU Knights came second in group B.
Alice Gombwer will now meet Adamawa Lions that narrowly defeated Solid Heats in the second semi finals by 78 to 76 points in today’s final.
Okoh Thomas triple double digits of 28 points, 16 rebounds and 10 seals was not enough to save the Heats from the hands of the wounded Lions of Adamawa.
This is how it ended between Lions and Heats, 20-23, 22-14, 17-18 and 19-21.
The winner of the clash between Alice Gombwer and Adamawa Lions gets the sole ticket from the Savannah Conference into the NBBF TotalEnergies Division 1 League.
Before the final, Solid Heats and ABU Knights will meet in third game.
From the nation’s capital, Abuja, the slamming and dunking show piece will move to the garden city of Port Harcourt for the Atlantic Conference finals from the fourteen of this month.
