Following his heroics at the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and the just concluded super 6, clubsides in the country and abroad have continued to jostle for the signature of Sunshine goal keeper, Mustapha Lawal.
Mustapha Lawal was the main man for the Akure based clubside as his saves reflexes and coordination of the defence helped Sunshine finish in the top three in the group B of the abridged league.
Lawal also went on to dazzle at the NPFL Championship where he made the most saves off all the goal keepers on duty.
Born in Jos, in the year 2000, the goalie who stands at 1.9m tall has played for many clubsides in the country. They include, Geelec Academy, Mighty Jet FC, Solid Unit, Isloch Minsk in the Belarussian league
The 20-year-old joined Sunshine of Akure last season from EFCC FC in Abuja.
According to Lawal, two German goalkeepers, Ter Stergen, and Manuel Nueur are his role model in football.
Lawal’s strength as a goal keeper is his sharp reflexes, aerial ball, defense coordination and jump accuracy.
He uses both left and right foot.
