Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has said his team played better and deserve to at least get a point on Saturday evening at Villa Park
Aston Villa pipped Arsenal 1-0 courtesy of a 7th minute goal by McGinn.
The loss ensured the Gunners fail to retain top spot weeks after climbing to the summit of the log.
Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports after the game, said: “Really good performance. I thought we were better team and didn’t deserve to lose the game at all but this is football.”
When asked about the controversial refereeing decisions he initially refused to comment, but said he has an opinion: “I do, big opinion”.
Although Arsenal created big chances, they failed to convert any of them, as the hosts recorded their 14th consecutive win at home.
“You have to put the ball in the net and that’s the only thing we missed today,” Arteta added.
“We generated some big, big chances, bringing the ball higher up. We still lost the game.”
