Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte has expressed how he felt considering Lloris’ own goal against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Manager has refused to heap the blame on the goalie saying that such thing happens in football.
The former France skipper parried Bukayo Saka’s cross into his own net to give the Gunners the lead.
The French goalkeeper then failed to keep out Martin Odegaard’s long-range effort which sealed the points.
Conte, speaking after the game, insisted that Lloris remains one of the best stoppers in the world.
“I consider Hugo one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
“It can happen. Sometimes you can make a mistake,” Conte said.
Lloris’s gaffe this season has cost Tottenham Hotspurs a lot of games this season.
Tottenham are presently occupying the 5th position with 33 points from 19 games.
