Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has revealed his plans to take Salah off penalty duties after he missed two crucial penalties for Liverpool this season.
Salah missed a penalty in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal and also missed one in their 1-0 loss against Bournemouth few weeks back,
Klopp, speaking after the game at Anfield, confirmed he will hold talks with Salah.
Although the Egyptian pulled one back after Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus had given the Gunners a two-goal lead, he failed to hit the back of the net from the spot in the 54th minute.
Roberto Firmino spared Salah’s blushes with a late equaliser.
Klopp has now suggested Salah could relinquish the responsibility of stepping up after he missed his second penalty in the space of a few weeks.
“He missed the goal. So that’s why for a second the fist, and then I realised, ‘Oh, Mo isn’t celebrating.’ And then I realised the ball wasn’t it. That’s it,” Klopp said.
When pushed on whether or not he could decide to strip Salah of penalty duties, Klopp added: “That’s something we will talk about but not here.”
