Liverpool have climbed to the summit of the English Premier League after defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park, courtesy of goals from Matete, Salah and Harvey Elliot.
After a quiet first half, it proved to be entertaining and at times baffling as Liverpool snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with less than 14 minutes of regulation time.
Palace took the lead after Matete converted from the penalty spot in the 57th minute of the encounter.
However, Jordan Ayew received his marching orders after infringing on Harvey Elliot, One minute after Liverpool punished Palace after a sweet counter attacking football which led to Salah’s equalizer in the 76th minute of the thrilling encounter.
Harvey Elliot smashed home a 91st minute rocket that beat Palace’s goalie for the Reds second goal of the afternoon.
Liverpool went on to score the third but Diaz’s goal was chalked off for offside.
The result meant Liverpool have climbed to the top of the log pending Aston Villa and Arsenal match.
