Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has given detailed reasons why his side lost by 2-1 to Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening.
Despite the Gunners scoring first, aul Jiménez and Bobby De Cordova-Reid scored a goal in each half to help the home side secure maximum points against the Gunners.
Bukayo Saka put the visitors ahead inside 5 minute of the encounter but Fulham equalized and scored the winner in the second half.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Arteta said the Gunners were not good enough against the host.
“We weren’t good enough. We didn’t have enough rhythm threat. Defensively, we were second best,” Arteta said.
He added: “Painful and a sad day. That’s how I would sum it up. We had the chance to be top of the table after 20 games. Three days ago, we lost a game that we deserved to win; today was a different story.”
The result leaves Arsenal in fourth position on the Premier League table, behind Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Liverpool.
