Sparta Praque coach, Brian Priske has expressed his love for Liverpool despite losing 11 -2 to them on aggregate at the Europa.
Liverpool defeated Sparta Prague 5-1 in Czezh Republic before going out again in the second leg to win 6-1 at Anfield to make the aggregate 11-2.
Priske believes that Liverpool should not be competing in the Europa League, but instead should be playing in the Champions League.
In his post-match comments, Priske described Liverpool as a world-class team and praised their quality in both legs of the tie against Sparta.
Despite the defeat, Priske was gracious in defeat and acknowledged the gulf in class between the two teams.
“We faced a world-class team,” Priske said.
“Big respect to Liverpool, how they played these two legs, how they approached the games, put in the pure quality they have.
“But Liverpool are a Champions League team and they should be in the Champions League, they will maybe be in the semi-finals, they will maybe be Premier League winners in two months.”
Liverpool advanced to the quarter final on 11-2 aggregate win having won 5-1 in the first leg.
