The Selecao of Portugal on Thursday night defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria by 4-0 at the Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon.

Bernardo Silva crosses and Osayi-Samuel blocks with his hand and the referee pointed to the spot which Bruno Fernandens converted to put the  scores at 2-0.

In the 72nd minute Chukwueze dribbled past Antonio Silva, bursts into the box and hits a cross. Rui Patrício comes out of the goal and saves with his leg.

However, the Super Eagles had a great opportunity to score in the encounter when Osayi-Samuel was fouled by Diogo Dalot but the resultant penalty was missed by Emmanuel Dennis.

Portugal then scores two quick goals in the 82nd and 84th minute of the encounter to finish the game on a high.

Gonçalo Ramos and João Mario scored in quick succession to complete the rout on the Super Eagles in Lisbon..

Full time  4 -0 in favour of the Europeans.

Portugal will head to Qatar tomorrow where they will play in group H alongside Uruguay, Ghana and South Korea.
