Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson was elbowed in the face by assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis after a little exchange of words at halftime between Liverpool and Arsenal.
A video where the Scotland captain approached the linesman and got struck in the face has emerged on the internet,
Arsenal led 2-1 at half-time as the Gunners aim to take a step closer to the Premier League title.
As the left-back drew closer, Hatzidakis appeared to throw an elbow into the player’s throat.
Robertson was eventually booked as the Liverpool players mobbed the officials and the PGMOL have since revealed they are looking into the incident.
After the match, Reds boss Klopp was asked for comment on the incident, but insisted he had not seen it properly at that point.
When asked what he made of the incident, Klopp said: “Nothing. I know it happened, but I didn’t watch it. If it happened, the pictures will speak for themselves.”
On the touchline was Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves, who gave the further insight on the situation.
“Andy Robertson was absolutely apoplectic, stunned even,” Shreeves said.
