Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna on Sunday held hosts Rangers International FC of Enugu to a 1–1 draw at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
TheNewsGuru reports that Rangers scored in the 40th minute through Godwin Aguda, while Chidiebere Ajoku of the visiting team equalised in the 47th minute.
Head Coach of Niger Tornadoes, Bala Abubakar, later told sportswriters that his players were resolute to come and achieve something in Enugu and they were happy to have achieved that.
“They almost succeeded getting the maximum points. But Rangers are a good side which displayed a lot of discipline in the pitch.
“We are happy with securing a draw today in Enugu, which came through resilience and hard work.
“We forced Rangers to a draw through a well-defined tactical defensive play,’’ he said.
