The management of Juventus Football Club in the Italian Serie A today fired coach Massimilliano Allegri few days after defeating Atalanta to win the Coppa Italia for the Old Ladies of Turin.
Allegri’s sack was announced on the club’s website Friday afternoon.
According to the management, Allegri was fired for exhibiting unruly behaviour in Juve’s last game against Atalanta.
The statement reads “Juventus cite Allegri’s behaviour during their Coppa Italia win as the reason for the immediate dismissal. He was sent off in the victory over Atalanta and furiously took off his club jacket and tie.”
“The departure follows certain behaviour during and after the Coppa Italia Final that the club considered not compatible with the values of Juventus.”
The Coppa Italia trophy is the only silverware won by Juventus this season.
