The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Monday evening defeated the Mambas of Mozambique by 3-2 courtesy of goals from France based Terem Moffi, Brentford of England midfieder, Frank Onyeka and Nantes FC forward Moses Simon.
The Mambas struck first via an early firsthalf goal with the South African side breaking the Super Eagles defence, Witi sets up Geny Catamo, who opens the scoring with a left-footed shot that beat goalie Franzis Uzoho.
Terem Mofff finishes in the middle of the box to make it all square in the 19th minute of the encounter.
Frank Onyeka turned things around in the 30th minute when new boy, Dele Bashiru sent him a diagonal pass and the Midfielder wasted no time to put the West Africans in the lead.
Few minutes later, with results standing at 2-1 in favour of Nigeria, Mozambican midfieder, Dove got the marching order to reduce the Mambas to 10.
Moses Simon converted a 49th minute penalty to extend Nigeria’s lead in the encounter.
However, Bangal scores after an assist from Catamo to reduce their deficit to just one goal.
All effort from both sides to register more goals in the thrilling encounter proved abortive.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria drew 2-2 with the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia few days ago in Portugal.
