Some fans of the Super Eagles in Omu-Aran, Kwara, have charged the team to remain focus in winning the the 2017 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations for the country.
The fans who spoke in separate interviews with TheNewsGuru said the team’s victory would stamp its authority among teams in the region.
They charged the team to put in their best in securing victory in the final match against host Ghana scheduled for Sept. 24.
Zakariyau Bello, Chairman, Super Eagles Supporters Club in Omu-Aran, said members were already praying towards ensuring the team’s victory over Ghana.
“We may not be in Ghana physicality but we will be there in spirit; we have organised prayer warriors as part of our support for the team to bring home the elusive trophy.
“All they need is to remain focus and shun any distraction that could derail their winning streak since the tournament started,’’ he said.
Also, Mr Yemi Aransiola, Director, Oyeyemi Sports Academy, Omu-Aran, lauded the team’s spirit and coordination that had helped it to secure vital victories up to the final stage.
The team should not give that respect to the Ghanaians, they need to maintain same confidence and focus as done in previous matches,’’ he said.
Abdullahi Adeoye, a Viewing Center Operator in Omu-Aran, said the fans were already in high spirit see the team lift up the trophy by the Eagles on Sunday.
“The fans have started asking for the match schedules that is to tell you their preparedness to support their darling team all through the match.
“No doubt, the recent high performance of the Super Eagles has really changed the past negative perception of football fans on the team,’’ he said.
