Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino explained his substitution of midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
The Blues experienced a nervy game on Tuesday against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup.
Before the dramatic closing stages of the game, Chelsea had taken off mega signing Fernandez, which was due to a stomach problem.
Pochettino stated post-game: “He asked to go out because he was a little bit sick before the game.
“He suffered some problems in his stomach. He tried, he wanted to play and see if it went well. It didn’t go so well so that is why he had to come off.”
He then added on subbing Levi Colwill: “My perception was Levi was a little bit tired and we wanted to put some more offensive players like Malo on and provide more energy in the side.”
